Simply Irish Story

In 1998, husband and wife team Brian and Tara Beattie first set up Mange Tout Limited as a fine dining restaurant of the same name. After just six short months the restaurant was multiple Award Winning with all the major food guides, including a bib gourmand in the Michelin Guide.

Soon after opening the restaurant, they identified a gap in the event catering market for a high-end operator in Ireland and in 2002 they modified from a fine dining restaurant to a fine dining caterer, called The Caterers, still trading under the original Mange Tout company. As our business grew so too did our team, menus and ambitions.

In 2011, the company opened its first Simply Irish Café the Courtyard SI Café located at Castletown House – Kildare, which was the start of our journey to creating café destinations in some of the most beautiful and historic sites around Leinster. We currently operate 5 cafes in our portfolio, which include Coach House SI Café in Newbridge House and Farm; School House SI Café in St. Enda’s Park; Tower SI Café in Glasnevin Cemetery and Faughs SI Café in Faughs GAA Club.

SI Café is able to set apart from the competitors as our cakes and treats are freshly made by our own talented team of qualified bakers in our central production and training centre in Dublin 12. Our barista coffees are made with the best traditional yet innovative coffee roaster JJ Darboven since 1998. Today our 5 cafés are producing over half a million high quality cups of coffee annually. And continuing to scale!
